Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Contracts Manager with specialised experience in roofing to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of construction contracts related to roofing projects, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations and quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of roofing systems, materials, and methods, as well as strong contract management skills, leadership, and communication abilities.
Driving License and a clear criminal record is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management:
- Oversee and manage the full life cycle of roofing contracts, from negotiation and drafting to execution and final completion.
- Ensure that all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Coordinate with legal teams to resolve any contractual disputes or issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed roofing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Monitor the progress of roofing projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Review project plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Track project expenses, ensuring that costs stay within budget and that any variances are addressed promptly.
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Ensure that all roofing work is performed in accordance with industry best practices, safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work quality and ensure compliance with contractual specifications.
- Liaise with Manufacturers/specifiers to perform inspections and resolve any quality issues.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates to clients and internal teams, addressing any concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters related to roofing projects.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks related to roofing contracts, including financial, legal, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential issues before they arise.
- Ensure that appropriate insurance and bonding requirements are in place for roofing projects.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise and mentor project managers, assistant contracts managers, and other team members involved in roofing contracts.
- Provide training and support to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting safety and teamwork.
Key Requirements:
- Experience:Â Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction contract management, specifically within the roofing sector.
- Education: Qualification in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications:Â Relevant industry certifications or roofing-specific qualifications (e.g., FRSA membership, NVQ in Roofing) are desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems (flat, pitched, green roofing, etc.), materials, and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in construction management software
- Solid understanding of contract law, including the ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts.
- Strong budgeting, financial management, and cost control abilities.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Leadership and team management skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in the management of both commercial and residential roofing projects.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry, particularly as they relate to roofing.
- Ability to work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality control and timely delivery.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend work required to meet project deadlines.
- Operate from our head office in Preston, Lancashire
- Frequent site visits to roofing project locations.
- Occasional travel required for meetings or project oversight.
